but i’m cool with it…

sometimes.

i can clean up nicely

why is everyone so surprised by that?

i wonder how long it will take

for my guilt to consume me

it just… happened.

i love history

because we’re making people immortal

by learning about them

and studying them

and being tested on them

we’re keeping them alive.

i hate history

because we don’t always do justice

to the people in the past

and what they did

and who they were

we just learn the most important things.

i want more

i want to live in their time period

and do the things that they did

and get to know them personally

so i can make my own memories of them.

i want to think about seward

and remember how we once through a party together

because our birthdays are on the same date

i don’t want to remember “seward’s folly”

he doesn’t deserve that

he was so much more.
